Terms of Service

Last updated: July 1, 2026

Overview

This website is operated by Atelier Eisel. Throughout the website, the terms “Atelier Eisel,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Atelier Eisel.

Atelier Eisel offers this website, including all information, features, tools, products, and services available through the website, to you conditioned upon your acceptance of these Terms of Service and all other policies and notices referenced in them.

These Terms of Service apply to all visitors and users of the website, including customers, browsers, and individuals who submit content or otherwise interact with our services.

By visiting our website, placing an order, or otherwise using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not access the website or use our services.

Our store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform that enables us to offer our products and services to you. Purchases made through the website are transactions between you and Atelier Eisel.

1. Eligibility and Online Store Terms

By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state, province, or country of residence, or that you have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to use this website.

You may not use our website or products for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose. You may not use the website in a way that violates any applicable local, state, federal, national, or international law or regulation.

You may not transmit viruses, malicious code, or any other material intended to interfere with the operation, security, or availability of the website.

A violation of these Terms of Service may result in the suspension or termination of your access to the website or our services.

2. General Conditions

We reserve the right to refuse service, cancel an order, restrict access, or discontinue an account or transaction when reasonably necessary, including in cases of suspected fraud, unauthorized activity, abusive conduct, pricing errors, product unavailability, or violations of these Terms of Service.

You understand that information you submit through the website, other than payment-card information, may be transferred through various networks and adapted to the technical requirements of connecting systems. Payment-card information is encrypted during transmission through the payment services used by our store.

You may not copy, reproduce, duplicate, sell, resell, exploit, or commercially use any portion of the website or our services without our prior written permission.

Headings are included for convenience and do not limit or otherwise affect these Terms of Service.

3. Product Information and Availability

We make reasonable efforts to describe and display our products accurately. However, colors and details may appear differently depending on your screen, browser, device settings, lighting, and other factors.

Atelier Eisel products may include handmade, hand-finished, artisan-produced, natural, or individually cut materials. Minor differences in paper texture, color, grain, pattern placement, printing, folding, trimming, assembly, and finishing are natural characteristics of these products and are not necessarily defects.

Pattern placement may vary on products made from decorative or Japanese papers. The exact portion of a larger pattern shown on an individual item may differ from the product photographs.

Product dimensions and weights are approximate unless expressly identified as exact. Packaging may be modified when reasonably necessary to protect a product during shipment or accommodate supply availability.

All products are subject to availability. We may limit quantities, discontinue products, revise product specifications, or withdraw products from sale at any time without prior notice.

Nothing on the website constitutes a guarantee that a product will remain available.

4. Prices and Payment

Prices are displayed in the currency identified on the website and are subject to change without notice.

The price charged for a product will generally be the price displayed when your order is submitted, except when a clear pricing, typographical, technical, or promotional error has occurred. If we discover an error affecting your order, we may contact you to confirm the corrected information or cancel and refund the affected item.

Prices do not include applicable taxes, shipping charges, customs duties, or other fees unless expressly stated. Applicable charges will be displayed during checkout when available.

By submitting payment information, you represent that:

  • You are authorized to use the payment method provided.

  • The billing information you provide is accurate and complete.

  • You authorize us and our payment-service providers to charge the total amount of your order.

  • You are responsible for any charges imposed by your bank, card issuer, or payment provider.

Payment processing is performed by Shopify and other third-party payment providers. We do not independently store complete payment-card numbers.

5. Orders and Acceptance

Submitting an order does not guarantee that the order has been accepted. An automated order confirmation acknowledges that we received your order but does not necessarily constitute final acceptance.

We may decline, limit, or cancel an order for reasons including:

  • Product unavailability

  • Suspected fraud or unauthorized payment activity

  • Incorrect pricing or product information

  • Shipping restrictions

  • An inability to verify billing or delivery information

  • Orders appearing to be placed for unauthorized resale

  • A violation of these Terms of Service

If we cancel an order after payment has been processed, we will issue a refund to the original payment method for the canceled amount.

You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing, shipping, contact, and account information. You are responsible for reviewing your order carefully before submitting it.

Please contact us promptly after placing an order if you discover an error. We cannot guarantee that an order can be modified or canceled after it has entered processing or shipment.

6. Shipping and Delivery

Shipping destinations, methods, costs, and estimated delivery times are displayed during checkout or described in our Shipping Policy.

Processing and delivery estimates are provided in good faith but are not guarantees unless expressly stated otherwise. Delays may occur due to carrier disruptions, weather, holidays, supply interruptions, incorrect addresses, customs processing, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

If we learn that we cannot ship an order within the time stated or otherwise required by applicable law, we will contact you and provide the choices or remedies required under applicable law.

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. Additional shipping costs resulting from an incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable address may be the customer’s responsibility to the extent permitted by law.

Once an order has been transferred to the carrier, delivery timing is subject to the carrier’s operations. We will provide reasonable assistance with delivery problems, but we cannot guarantee a carrier’s performance.

International orders, when available, may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, brokerage charges, or other governmental fees. Unless otherwise stated, these charges are the customer’s responsibility and are not included in the product or shipping price.

Our Shipping Policy is incorporated into these Terms of Service by reference.

7. Returns, Exchanges, Damaged Items, and Refunds

Returns, exchanges, and refunds are governed by the Returns and Exchanges Policy displayed on our website. That policy is incorporated into these Terms of Service by reference.

Please inspect your order promptly after delivery. If an item arrives damaged, defective, incomplete, or incorrect, contact us within the period specified in our Returns and Exchanges Policy and include the order number, a description of the problem, and clear photographs when requested.

Normal variations associated with handmade, hand-finished, artisan-produced, natural, or patterned materials are not necessarily defects.

Items returned without authorization, items returned outside the stated return period, or items that do not satisfy the conditions in our Returns and Exchanges Policy may be refused to the extent permitted by law.

Any nonreturnable products, including customized, personalized, final-sale, or specially identified items, will be disclosed before purchase when applicable.

Nothing in these Terms of Service limits any nonwaivable rights or remedies available to you under applicable consumer-protection law.

8. Promotions, Discounts, and Gift Cards

Promotions, discount codes, gifts with purchase, and limited-time offers may be subject to additional conditions stated with the offer.

Unless otherwise stated:

  • Promotions cannot be combined.

  • Discounts have no cash value.

  • Discounts do not apply retroactively to earlier purchases.

  • Promotions may exclude certain products, shipping charges, taxes, or gift cards.

  • Promotions may be modified or ended when reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law.

Gift cards or store credits, when offered, are subject to any additional terms presented at purchase or issuance and to applicable law.

9. Accuracy of Website Information

We make reasonable efforts to keep information on the website accurate and current. However, the website may occasionally contain typographical errors, inaccuracies, omissions, or outdated information relating to product descriptions, pricing, promotions, availability, shipping, or other matters.

We reserve the right to correct errors, update information, or cancel affected orders when reasonably necessary, including after an order has been submitted. If a correction materially affects an accepted order, we will notify you and provide an appropriate opportunity to proceed or receive a refund.

Information provided through our journal, articles, guides, or other editorial content is offered for general informational and inspirational purposes. It should not be treated as professional, legal, financial, medical, or technical advice.

10. Intellectual Property

The website and its contents are owned by or licensed to Atelier Eisel and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Protected content may include:

  • Atelier Eisel’s name, logos, trademarks, and branding

  • Greeting-card and stationery designs

  • Original artwork and illustrations

  • Product names and collection names

  • Photographs and product styling

  • Written copy, journal articles, and product descriptions

  • Graphics, page layouts, and downloadable materials

  • Packaging and presentation designs

Except as expressly permitted by law, you may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, publish, display, create derivative works from, sell, license, scrape, or commercially exploit our content without prior written permission.

Purchasing a physical product does not transfer any copyright, trademark, reproduction, licensing, or commercial-use rights in its artwork, design, text, photography, or other intellectual property.

You may photograph products you purchase for ordinary personal use, including sharing a personal photograph on social media, provided that the use does not falsely suggest sponsorship, ownership, endorsement, or authorization by Atelier Eisel.

“Atelier Eisel” and associated branding may not be used without our written authorization.

11. Customer Reviews, Messages, and Other Submissions

You may have opportunities to submit reviews, photographs, comments, suggestions, questions, or other materials.

You retain ownership of content you create. By voluntarily submitting content for publication through our website, product-review system, or designated social-media feature, you grant Atelier Eisel a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, format, and publish that content in connection with operating and promoting our business, subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy.

You represent that:

  • You own the content or have permission to submit it.

  • The content is truthful and based on your genuine experience when presented as a review.

  • The content does not infringe another person’s intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.

  • The content is not unlawful, threatening, abusive, deceptive, defamatory, obscene, or malicious.

  • The content does not contain malware, spam, or unauthorized advertising.

We may moderate, decline, or remove submitted content that violates these standards or is otherwise inappropriate for our website. We are not obligated to publish every submission.

Do not send confidential product ideas, artwork, manuscripts, designs, or business proposals unless we have first agreed in writing to receive them on a confidential basis. Unsolicited submissions will not be treated as confidential.

12. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the website or its content:

  • For any unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purpose

  • To violate the rights of Atelier Eisel or another person

  • To infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, or other proprietary rights

  • To harass, threaten, abuse, discriminate against, or harm another person

  • To submit false or misleading information

  • To distribute spam, malware, viruses, or harmful code

  • To collect or track personal information without authorization

  • To scrape, crawl, extract, reproduce, or index website content for unauthorized commercial purposes

  • To interfere with the website’s security, operation, or availability

  • To circumvent checkout, access restrictions, or security features

  • To impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation

  • To place orders using stolen or unauthorized payment information

  • To purchase products for unauthorized reproduction or commercial copying

We may suspend or terminate access when we reasonably believe a prohibited use has occurred.

13. Third-Party Services and Links

Our website may include tools, applications, payment services, social-media features, or links provided by third parties.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control and are not responsible for the availability, content, security, accuracy, or practices of independently operated third-party websites or services.

Links are provided for convenience and do not necessarily constitute an endorsement.

Before completing a transaction or providing information to a third party, you should review that party’s terms and policies. Complaints relating solely to a third party’s products or services should be directed to that third party.

14. Privacy

Your submission of personal information through the website is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Service by reference.

By using the website, you acknowledge that information may be processed by Shopify and other service providers that help us operate the store, process payments, fulfill orders, provide customer service, analyze website use, prevent fraud, and perform other business functions described in our Privacy Policy.

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

We make reasonable efforts to provide a secure, accurate, and reliable website. However, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the website and its informational content are provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis.

We do not warrant that:

  • Access to the website will always be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

  • Every website error or technical issue will be corrected immediately.

  • The website will be compatible with every device, browser, or system.

  • Information displayed on the website will always be complete or current.

  • Results obtained from use of the website will meet every user’s expectations.

Products are subject to any express product descriptions, written warranties, and nonwaivable warranties provided under applicable law.

Some jurisdictions do not permit the exclusion of certain implied warranties. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions in this section apply only to the extent permitted by law.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Atelier Eisel and its owners, employees, contractors, agents, service providers, licensors, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, exemplary, or consequential damages arising from or connected with your use of the website or services.

This may include loss of data, revenue, profits, business opportunity, goodwill, or other intangible loss, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or another legal theory.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Atelier Eisel’s aggregate liability arising from a particular order will not exceed the amount you paid to Atelier Eisel for the product or order giving rise to the claim.

These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including any nonwaivable consumer rights.

Because some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations or exclusions of liability, portions of this section may not apply to you.

17. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Atelier Eisel and its owners, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, suppliers, and service providers from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, and reasonable expenses arising from:

  • Your unlawful or unauthorized use of the website

  • Your material violation of these Terms of Service

  • Content you submit through the website

  • Your infringement of another person’s rights

  • Fraudulent or intentionally harmful conduct

This section does not require you to indemnify any party for conduct for which indemnification cannot lawfully be required.

18. Force Majeure

We will not be liable for a delay or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, fire, flood, epidemic, pandemic, war, terrorism, civil unrest, governmental action, labor disruption, carrier interruption, utility failure, internet outage, cyberattack, or supply-chain disruption.

This section does not remove any cancellation, refund, or other rights that applicable law requires us to provide.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the greatest extent permitted by law and will be treated as severed from the remaining provisions.

The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

20. No Waiver

Our failure to enforce a provision of these Terms of Service does not waive our right to enforce it later.

Any waiver must be provided in writing by an authorized representative of Atelier Eisel.

21. Termination

These Terms of Service remain effective unless terminated by you or Atelier Eisel.

You may stop using the website at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms of Service, engaged in fraud or abuse, or used the website in a manner that could harm Atelier Eisel, our customers, or another party.

Provisions that by their nature should continue after termination—including provisions concerning intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and governing law—will survive termination.

22. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, Returns and Exchanges Policy, and other policies expressly referenced on the website, constitute the agreement between you and Atelier Eisel concerning your use of the website and purchases made through it.

If there is a conflict between these Terms of Service and a product-specific or promotion-specific term, the more specific term will control for that product or promotion.

23. Governing Law

These Terms of Service and any separate agreements through which Atelier Eisel provides products or services will be governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire and applicable federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Subject to any rights you may have under mandatory consumer-protection law, legal proceedings arising from these Terms of Service will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in New Hampshire.

Nothing in this section deprives a consumer of protections that cannot lawfully be waived under the laws applicable to that consumer.

24. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service periodically to reflect changes in our operations, products, services, technology, legal obligations, or business practices.

The current version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Changes become effective when posted unless a later effective date is stated.

Your continued use of the website after updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.

We encourage you to review this page periodically.
