Cranes Among Blossoms Chiyogami Paper

Ivory cranes sweep across a luminous turquoise-blue ground, their outstretched wings moving among coral-pink and white blossoms and softly layered blue forms. Fine charcoal and muted gold-toned linework gives the birds and branches graceful definition without overwhelming the airy composition. Hand-printed using a traditional silk-screen process, this decorative Chiyogami paper is especially beautiful for bookbinding, journal covers, keepsake boxes, endpapers, collage, framing, card details, and paper arts that benefit from an elegant pattern with abundant movement.

From the Atelier: We were drawn to the way the cranes seem to move effortlessly across this paper, creating a design that feels both lively and composed. The turquoise ground gives the pattern a fresh, luminous quality, while the coral blossoms introduce warmth and a gentle sense of celebration. Across a journal or keepsake box, the full repeat feels wonderfully expansive; in smaller pieces, a single crane and cluster of blossoms become a graceful focal point. It is a paper that invites thoughtful cutting, careful placement, and projects meant to be treasured.
